Alba is the musical vision of Peter Alba, who writes and records all of the music. Having lived in New Orleans for many years, the influence can be heard in the music as well as the live shows, which feature a little more improv than is heard on the recordings. Peter likes to feature a variety of musicians and instruments (even a saw!)  for the live shows, but this is all done within the context of the recorded songs. Now residing in Seattle, Peter spends his days writing new songs and working on his improv skills while the Olympic and Cascade mountains tease him from a distance.
     His self titled release (and first under this name) "Alba" features songs written over a twenty year period.  The older songs have appeared on previous albums but they have evolved to reflect changes in time and space that have occurred since they were first conceived. Having been a music teacher and sideman for many years, Peter is reinventing his career as a songwriter/ performer and is looking forward to entertaining folks in his hometown and throughout the country.
