Northern Ballard with James Parr and Andi Lee Scher

Since all the hipsters moved in, Northern Ballard is considering relocating to somewhere less pretentious. Sanity is saved by writing songs about love, happiness, and infrastructure. His English accent and penchant for ripping off the classic 60's songbook mark him up as either a throwback or a plagiarist.

.James Parr has been writing, recording and performing music for over 25 years. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, he writes about loss, nostalgia, beginnings & endings.  With an acoustic foundation, the songs are layered with texture, ambience and atmosphere.  With styles ranging from folk-rock to indie-pop to Americana, thus drawing comparisons to everyone from Simon & Garfunkel to U2 to James Taylor, James is an artist outside the lines of easy categorization.  The title track of his album Cold Front (available now on bandcampSpotifyiTunesAmazon and elsewhere), was recently featured on nationally syndicated The International Americana Music Show.  Originally from Canada, he has lived in the heart of Seattle since 2011, and has been known to throw an unexpected cover or two into his live sets.

A new transplant to the Seattle music scene, Andi Lee Scher has made her way from coast to coast singing songs in an endless pursuit of freedom, truth, and wonder. Transfixed by dualities and a ceaseless longing, her soulful voice cuts right to the heart of the human experience with bluesy folk melodies and a bellowing acoustic guitar. For Andi Lee Scher, music is a source for healing, connecting, and renewal. It runs through her whole body hanging on to the sweetness of every fleeting moment.
