WEST MY FRIEND
In the modern musical landscape, it’s rare to hear something as put-together as three-piece Cascadian folk outfit West My Friend - something so layered, deeply symphonic, baroque, and mysterious in its own winking way while still courting an edge of disaster. Simple is safe, but complex is fiery, intricate, and ultimately more rewarding.
Steeped in the visual styles of western Canada, West My Friend are veterans of the Victoria music scene. After 10 years as a band, they’re gearing up to release their fourth album, In Constellation, in September. On this, their latest effort, the band continues to refine the art of creating achingly poignant folk music, only this time, they’re backed by a full symphony orchestra, heavily layered while remaining lighthearted. Intricate yet accessible. Melancholic yet optimistic.

JED CRISOLOGO AND THE SUNKILLERS
Jed Crisologo is a soulful Seattle singer- songwriter, who mixes Americana, Punk Rock and Jazz influences into heartfelt, catchy, honest tunes. His introspective and thoughtful songwriting sets an energetic and intensely human core to their songs. The rhythm section of Antoine Molaro (drums) and Craig Harris (bass) supply the perfect foundation of heavy grooves and energetic feel to build their sound on. Fellow songwriter Jonathan Shue adds such depth and feel to the arrangements with his duties on keys, harmonica and vocal harmonies while Lead Guitarist Josh Hamilton lends the jazz sensibilities and ripping rock guitar solos to really land these songs home. When Jed is backed by the Sun Killers, the sound travels from wonderfully noisy and ambient to intimate and raw, from raucous and bombastic to swinging and groovy all while emphasizing the truth and humanity in the songs
