GlobeMed Benefit Concert

GlobeMed at UW as a club has a primary goal to fundraise for our grassroots partner nonprofit NGO in Kenya called NECOFA (Network for Eco-Farming in Africa). NECOFA does amazing work with sustainable agriculture, women empowerment, and sustainable economic growth in communities that the government has overlooked (as well as so much more). All profits from the event would go straight to this partner. At the end of the year, four of our own club members will go and intern at NECOFA for the summer. There, they will help NECOFA run operations in a thoughtful way. Rather than instruct NECOFA on how to run their nonprofit, the interns involve the local community as much as possible, dialoguing with them about what issues they face and what they want to see happen in their community. With that information, the interns return to NECOFA with the information, assess current public health projects happening, brainstorm new project ideas with NECOFA, and work on implementing them in the communities.  Specifically, your donation will go to projects happening on Kokwa Island in Kenya such as vertical gardens, school supplies, reusable female sanitation kits, and more! Any contribution helps our cause, and we hope you join us for an evening filled with great music, great people, and a great cause!
